Heinzel's Laakirchen Papier remains committed to SC paper production

Laakirchen Papier runs one SC paper machine with an installed capacity of 330,000 tpy.

In 2012, Heinzel group had acquired the Laakirchen Papier SC-paper mill from SCA in Austria and established a sales and marketing agreement with the Swedish forest products company.

Following SCA's latest announcement to discontinue publication paper production at the Ortviken mill and exit the publication paper market, Heinzel and its subsidiary Laakirchen Papier saw the necessity to inform and reassure their customers on their commitment to the publication paper markets, and SC paper production in particular.

"The possible closure of the paper machines and its potential effects on the sales cooperation with SCA in Western European countries such as Germany, France, Belgium or the Netherlands have no influence on the production and sale of SC paper from Laakirchen Papier. We continue to be committed to SC paper production in the future and we assure our customers that they will be supplied with our paper as usual," says Franz Baldauf, CFO of Laakirchen Papier AG.
