Potential is currently being verified, company says

Holmen is considering to expand cartonboard capacity at its Iggesund mill in Sweden. When presenting its results for the first quarter of this year, the company said that there was potential to increase capacity at the mill by around 20%. Holmen says it aims to make a decision about such an investment within a year.

Last year, Holmen produced almost 330,000 t of solid bleached board (GZ) at the Iggesund mill. Including its UK plant, Iggesund Workington, which manufactures folding boxboard (GC), Holmen can produce up to 550,000 tpy of board in total. The company reported a production volume of 527,000 t for last year, up from 497,000 t in 2016.
