Irving Consumer Products to build tissue plant in the US

Irving Consumer Products expands its tissue products business in the USA. By 2019, the company will build a new site in the US state of Georgia.

Canadian manufacturer of tissue products Irving Consumer Products has announced it will build a new tissue plant in Macon in the US state of Georgia. The investment cost was put at $400m. The company says that construction will begin this summer and is expected to be completed in 2019.

The new plant will enable Irving Consumer Products to double its capacities for TAD tissue. The company said the new machine to be installed at the site would be able to produce up to 75,000 tpy of tissue paper. The project is to create over 200 jobs.

Irving Consumer Products manufactures tissue products such as facial and bathroom tissue, household towels and baby diapers. The company is part of the J.D. Irving Group of companies.
