Rising costs and tightening regulatory demands are the drivers, company says.

Chemicals company Kemira announces price increases for its process and functional chemistry products. The company says the increase will be up to 30 per cent, and effective for deliveries from 1 October 2021 onwards or as contracts allow.

The company's process and functional portfolio includes all specialty chemical products utilized in pulp, paper and board production. Applications include pulping, wet-end chemistry, surface chemistry and water treatment.

Kemira says it is experiencing a sharp increase in the costs for raw materials, transportation, packaging and labor, as well as tightening regulatory demands. Raw material and logistics availability continue to be constrained.
