Manufacturers of uncoated fine paper hike prices in Germany in October

Amid tight supply, longer delivery periods and rising costs, suppliers of uncoated fine paper were able to increase prices in Germany. Given the strong market, a renewed hike has already been announced for January 2018.

The paramount topic in the market for woodfree uncoated paper in Germany appears to be the availability of individual grades rather than the step-wise increase in prices. Many paper mills have an order backlog until well into December. Most market players add that the price gap between the grades is becoming narrower.

The trend towards higher prices is resilient. A renewed hike has already been announced for January 2018.
