MM strengthens its FBB offering by taking over the Kwidzyn mill
06 Aug 2021 −

Mayr-Melnhof Group (MM) has finalised the acquisition of International Paper's former Kwidzyn mill in Poland after receiving approval from all relevant competition authorities.

The purchase forms part of MM's strategy to grow in high quality primary fibre-based carton-board (FBB). Only a few days ago, the company announced the closing of the acquisition of Finnish FBB manufacturer Kotkamills and the sale of two cartonboard mills in Germany and The Netherlands.

Furthermore, MM will integrate the uncoated fine paper and packaging kraft paper production at the site, thus diversifying its product offering.

In line with the enlarged product portfolio the division MM Karton changes its name to MM Board & Paper.
