20 Nov 2018 −

Austria's cartonboard and packaging producers Mayr-Melnhof has resumed full production at the Neuss board mill in Germany, following a cable fire that had hit the site at the end of October. According to Mayr-Melnhof, the mil returned to regular production in mid-November.

The October cable fire had lasted only a few minutes but had affected a large number of cables, the company explained in a previous statement. The board machine and other equipment remained undamaged and there were no injuries reported.

During the forced downtime Mayr-Melnhof continued supplying the customers of the Neuss mill from stock, backed up by quantities produced at other sites of the group.
