Messe Düsseldorf prepares drupa 2020 as planned
There are currently no plans to postpone drupa, explains Messe Düsseldorf, which organises the trade fair.
Messe Düsseldorf said it intended to re-evaluate the situation in consultation with the health authorities and partners and make responsible decisions in a timely manner. "Preparations are therefore currently going ahead as planned," emphasises the organiser. The global trade fair for the print industry drupa 2020 will take place on 16-26 June in Düsseldorf.
In the paper and printing industry there have recently held intensive discussions regarding planned major events. The recent cancellations of trade fairs - with reference to the coronavirus - are a concern to market players.
The drupa, which takes place every four years, recorded around 260,000 visitors and 1,837 exhibitors from 54 countries in 2016.
UPDATE on 13 March 2020: Messe Düsseldorf has reassessed the situation amid the growing number of COVID-19 infections and decided to pospone the Drupa 2020 trade fair to April 2021.
