Metsä Board announces hefty price increase

Cartonboard prices have been rising in the past months. In a market that is shaped by long delivery times and high costs, Metsä Board has now announced another hefty price increase from November.

Metsä Board has announced a marked price increase for cartonboard. The company said it would increase prices for all folding boxboard (FBB) and food service board (FSB) grades by €130/t or £115/t for deliveries ex mill and ex stock as from 1 November.

Market players in Europe have been describing demand for cartonboard as strong in the recent past. They point to tight supply and long delivery times., with supply being tight. In addition, costs for input materials are high.
