Mondi upgrades its paper bags facility in Hungary

Mondi has completed a €7m investment at its Nyíregyháza site in Hungary. Among other things, the company has installed a new paper sack machine which can also produce sacks for the food market.

Mondi has successfully completed the installation of a new paper sack converting machine at its Nyíregyháza site in Hungary. The new machine enables the plant, which has a capacity to make 130 million paper sacks, to offer a new line of paper sacks for food packaging.

The new machine is part of a €7m investment package, which also included a redesign of the plant's entire layout and set-up, including the storage area, printer area, warehouse, and ink kitchen.

The Mondi Nyíregyháza plant serves the Hungarian, Romanian, Austrian and Bulgarian markets in many industries and sectors. It produces industrial paper sacks (open mouth and valve bags) for applications such as cement, building materials, food-feed-seed, chemicals and pharmaceuticals.
