Andritz-supplied tissue machine is geared for a production capacity of 22,000 tpy and is scheduled for start-up in early 2023.

Astrabel, a newly founded tissue company in Belišće, Croatia will erect the country's first tissue mill. The company has tapped Austria's technology company Andritz to deliver a complete tissue production line, including stock preparation, tissue machine and rewinder. A corresponding agrement was signed at the end of June. The start-up of the new machine is scheduled for early 2023.

The Andritz-supplied tissue machine has a web width of 2.85 m and a design speed of 1,300 m/min. Astrabel puts the production capacity of the TM at 22,000 tpy of fresh fibre based tissue.

Astrabel will produce jumbo tissue reels and plans to sell the product primarily on the domestic market to meet the growing tissue paper demand from toilet paper, napkins and kitchen roll manufacturers.

Total value of the investment project amounted to approximately €18m, of which €11m would be spent on the complete tissue production line supplied by Andritz, a spokesperson for Astrabel told EUWID.
