Coldset newsprint prices in Germany stagnate at last year's level

25 Apr 2017 −

After lengthy discussions, players in the German coldset newsprint market agreed to leave last year's prices unchanged in 2017.

Paper mills and publishers have finally agreed on terms and conditions for deliveries of coldset newsprint in 2017. EUWID respondents unanimously report that agreement was not based on finer modalities but rather by a simple compromise, the core of which involves retaining the price level of last year, for most part throughout 2017.

Some suppliers are said to have also signed short-term contracts which would allow for price adjustments to be made for deliveries in the third and/or fourth quarters.
