Norske Skog takes final decision on containerboard production at Bruck mill

Newsprint PM 3 to be rebuild to 210,000 tpy of recycled containerboard. Production start-up scheduled for Q4 2022.

Norske Skog has made the final investment decision on the conversion project at the company's Bruck mill in Austria. According to the company, the project has received final commitment from the banks, offering €70m in financing loans. Norske Skog puts the total cost of the PM 3 conversion project at €100m.

PM 3 conversion is part of a €350m investment project aiming to establish Norske Skog among the major independent producers of recycled containerboard in Europe. The decision on the conversion of newsprint machine PM 1 at the French Golbey mill is still pending nd is reportedly expected in the second quarter 2021.
