Ontex to build plant for sanitary products in Poland

Ontex will expand its presence in Poland. The company is planning to erect a new plant for baby diapers and incontinence products in the country, where it currently only has a sales office in Warsaw.

Belgian sanitary products manufacturer Ontex plans to build a new €40m plant to produce diapers for babies as well as adults in Radomsko, Poland. At the beginning of October, Ontex signed a notarised purchase contract with the Łódź special economic zone where the plant will be located.

The new plant will cover an area of 24,000 m² on a 11-ha site. Construction would begin before the end of this year, commissioning was planned at the end of 2018, the company explained. By the end of 2020, Ontex plans to employ 170 persons at the Radomsko site.
