Palm Recycling will be sourcing about 200.000 tpy of separately collected mixed papers from local authorities.
British newsprint manufacturer Palm Paper will be building a fibre separation plant alongside its paper mill in King’s Lynn which recycles 500,000 tpy of fibre into newsprint and associated grades. The "significant" investment in the fibre separation plant will target sorting separately collected mixed papers into recovered paper grades used for deinking, namely newspaper and magazines, Palm Paper reported, but did not further specify the amount of the investment. Palm Paper said the new fibre separation plant would be operational in Q4 2019, with a planned fully operational capacity of 200,000 tpy.
The input material for the sorting facility will be sourced from Local Authority and Waste Management companies collections of separately collected mixed papers.
