Papierfabrik Jass acquires Convert Paper

Acquisition opens up opportunities to develop business and to enlarge product range.

German producer of corrugated case material Adolf Jass acquires Polish company Convert Paper, a producer of corrugated board as well as GC, SBS and GD cartonboard. Convert Paper is a family-owned company based in Gostyń and employs 300 people.

Jass owns two paper mills in Germany in Fulda and Rudolstadt with a total capacity of 1 million tpy. The Fulda mill has two PMs that produce medium and heavier grades of corrugated case material while the mill in Rudolstadt/Schwarza produces lightweight corrugated case material on PM 1.

The transaction, which is expected to be finalised in November this year, is subject to regulatory approval from competition authorities. The companies made no comments on financial details of the acquisition.
