Perlen Papier suspends production after fire

Perlen Papier runs two paper machines with a total production capacity
of 560,000 tpy of newsprint and LWC paper.

Newsprint and LWC production at Swiss company Perlen Papier is temporary down following a fire in the recycled fibre processing and stock preparation plant.

The fire in the recovered paper processing and stock preparation plant occured on 7 October. No fatalaties were reported

However, the incident interrupted recycled fibre supply to both paper machines at the Perlen site. The company expects the production downtime on PM 7 and PM 4 to last several days.
