Poland: corrugated case material prices continue on a downward trend in March

The order intake of the individual paper mills, even within the same group, varies sometimes considerably. On the whole, however, the producers did not seen entirely unhappy with the order situation.

The price erosion on the Polish market for corrugated case material that had set in last autumn continued throughout the first quarter of 2019. Prices for unbleached kraftliner and brown recycled containerboard grades were more susceptible to the downward pressure, falling month by month. Finally, the negative price trend also spread to the white-top testliner and whit-top kraftline qualities.

Several industry observers expect the current price trend to persist at least until the middle of the year. Suppliers hope that the market will stabilize somewhat in view of some planned standstills of paper machines.
