January 1st, 2019 emerged as a natural date for new GC board prices to take effect on the market in Germany. However, the results of the price talks remained largely unclear in the second week of December.

GC II prices were reportedly corrected with a view towards eradicating rock-bottom prices from the market, the amount of the increase, however, was still not clear in mid-December. Reports mentioned ongoing negotiations as well as delayed start of negotiations.

A €45 hike with effect from 1 Jan 2019 was announced the market for GD board even as many other producers decided to carry forward prices into the first quarter. Converters think that board producers lack the basis to raise prices. They noted that the market was tending to overcapacity with plenty of board on the market amidst regular delivery periods.
