Prices for ordinary recovered paper grades in Italy on the rise again

|

Recovered paper prices in Italy partly started to rise again in January. EUWID sources confirmed that suppliers had been able to increase prices for ordinary grades by up to 10 €/t, mainly benefitting from rising export business to the Far East. Prices for deinking grades, however, dropped by another 5 € in many instances due to weak demand on the domestic market. Italian paper manufacturers were still struggling with a lack of orders, one market player explained. Prices for high recovered paper were generally left untouched.
