Prices of corrugated case material continue to fall in Germany

Price development for Schrenz
12 Aug 2020 −

Prices of recycled corrugated case material in Germany remain exposed to pressure. They are poised to yield in August following the recent downward correction in July.

According to converters' reports at the end of July, the market currently favours buyers: paper mills' output is high, new paper capacities are entering the market, demand for corrugated board is weaker, and recovered paper prices are falling.

Under the circumstances, improved export opportunities come as a boon to paper producers, but they have not succeeded in stabilising the market to the necessary extent, talks with market players indicate.
