Final decision on the capacity increase at Pro-Gest's packaging paper mill in Mantua is expected by the end of October.

Cartiere Villa Lagarina, a subsidiary of Italy's paper and packaging company Pro-Gest, has been granted a seven-day extension to respond to the negative preliminary findings of the provincial authorities regarding the planned capacity expansion at the company's recycled containerboard mill in Mantua. The deadline that was originally set for 21 October was extended upon company's request, the Province of Mantua informed.

According to the Province of Mantua, the company had actually asked for two more weeks to "facilitate the decision-making process with scientific rigor", and produce observations and statements in favour of the new environmental permit. However, the company's request was only partly granted by the reponsible authority, setting the final deadline for 28 October, it said.
