Pulp prices looking stable at the turn of the year

NBSK prices had been declining in 2019
08 Jan 2020 −

Not all December negotiations had been wrapped up in the first week of January.

As many observers suspected, unchanged pulp prices looked to be on the cards for the final month of 2019. Experts report stable prices for both hardwood and softwood pulp grades. Negotiations apparently proved to be a little tougher than in November, meaning that not all deals were signed and sealed as the first week of January came to an end.

"We will carry forward November’s prices into December,” one northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) producer told EUWID. A similar picture has been painted for eucalyptus pulp. The majority of EUWID contacts expect January to be another month of stable prices.
