Recycled containerboard prices see another hike in France

Price development for testliner II
25 Apr 2017 −

Thanks to a good order situation, recycled containerboard pries in France have gone up again in April. This is the third price increase in three months.

Brown recycled corrugated case material prices have continued on their upward path in France. Mark-ups in February and March were followed by another increase in April. Customers needed paper and demand was undiminished, manufacturers explained. Buyers are highlighting falling recovered paper prices, but manufacturers feel that they are still in a position to demand and invoice higher prices.

To all appearances, demand is strong enough to keep the market relatively tight compared with the available supply. Stocks had certainly increased over Easter but remained comparatively moderate and are not creating any supply pressure. Exports to destinations outside Europe are the same as last year, while imports from neighbouring markets are said to be limited.
