Recycled corrugated case material in short supply on German market
Amid scarce supply and delivery delays, paper mills and converters on the German market are discussing further price hikes for brown recycled containerboard in December.
Unbleached recycled containerboard is difficult to source in Germany in mid-November. According to industry insiders, many suppliers are reducing and postponing orders. This is not only due to good demand but also to problems on the supply side, with reports of downtime at some paper mills and the new machines apparently not yet running as expected.
Because of the supply bottlenecks, corrugated board producers are trying to stock up their inventories, which is driving demand even higher.
After consecutive price increases in October and November, market players are currently discussing another hike for December. Negotiations have not been concluded yet.
