Saica to acquire a corrugated plant in Turkey

Norm Ambalaj's Sakarya plant employs 159 people and can produce 75 million m² of corrugated board.

Saica Group has reached an agreement with the Turkish packaging group Norm Ambalaj to acquire their plant in Sakarya, Turkey. According to Saica, this acquisition would provide an increase of 75 million m² in the company's corrugated board capacity while "increasing its product footprint and product range for the Turkish market." Saica and Norm Ambalaj reportedly have a partnership agreement and will continue their collaboration under the terms of the partnership.

With this agreement, Saica took a step forward in its business growth strategy, allowing the group an "improvement in its service capacity and an increase in its supply for its customers in Turkey," the Spanish paper and packaging company said. This deal is still subject to approval by the Turkish anti-trust authorities.
