Paper producers throughout Europe react to the latest surge in gas and other energy prices and announce substantial price increases or energy surcharges.

SCA announced today that will increase its prices for white and brown kraftliner in Europe by €100/t. The new price is to be valid from 1 April.

Also today The Navigator Company said it would apply an energy surcharge of €105/t on uncoated woodfree and packaging products in Europe, Middle East and Africa, effective until further notice from 1 April. The company said that it would monitor the evolution of energy prices closely, adjusting the surcharge if necessary. A similar surcharge of €120/t on the same products is to be applied in the US.

In addition, Italian paper producer Burgo is taking a similar step and will invoice a new price increase of 15% or more from 1 April. The increase is to be valid for all markets and for all graphic paper grades (coated mechanical, coated woodfree, uncoated woodfree both sheets and reels).
