SCA’s CEO and President Jan Johansson said that the company’s cost saving programme would affect about 2000 employees, mainly within the group’s Hygiene business. The programme has a cost of SEK1.4bn, savings will be SEK700m per year when it will be finalised, mainly in Hygiene, partly in Packaging and to a marginal extent in Forest operations. He said that SCA would reduce the number of machines, however, there would be no mill closures in Europe.
