In January 2019, Smurfit Kappa's new carton plant in Tijuana, Mexico, started operations.

Dublin-based Smurfit Kappa Group (SKG) has opened a new folding carton plant in Tijuana, Mexico. The plant, which will mainly supply customers in Baja California and neighbouring states in northern Mexico, started operations in January 2019. It manufactures trays, folding cartons and other packaging solutions.
