Modifications and new dryer section to enhance paper quality and boost output by about 45.000 tpy.
Smurfit Kappa Group is currently rebuilding PM 5 at its Cellulose du Pin mill in France. A new dryer section is being installed, which is to improve paper quality and step up the machine's output capacity by about 45.000 tpy to 220,000 tpy. The machine, producing white-top kraftliner, was stopped on 11 January and is scheduled to be up and running again at the beginning of March, a company spokesperson confirmed.
Cellulose du Pin's PM 6 for brown kraftliner and pulp mill had scheduled maintenance downtime from 12 to 27 January.
