Södra wants to increase prices for northern bleached softwood kraft pulp again on the Europan market. Prices have already gone up significantly in this year.

Swedish forest industry group Södra has announced a new list price of $1,220/t for its northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) pulp in Europe. The new prices are scheduled to be implemented from 1 April. This corresponds to an increase of $100/t compared with March prices. Prices had already jumped in the past months by $50, $70 and most recently by $90/t.

"The global NBSK market is very tight, and in Europe a robust demand is outpacing supply. This announcement reflects the overall market sentiment," commented Henrik Wettergren, Vice President Marketing and Sales of Södra Cell.
