Solidus Solutions continues to grow. After a takeover in the Netherlands at the beginning of the year, the company has now acquired facilities in Germany and Poland.

Dutch solid board manufacturer Solidus Solutions has announced the acquisition of German-Polish company Mölle, a producer of partitions and inserts, from Ernst & Cie. The acquisition was completed on 5 August and is an important step for Solidus to diversify its product portfolio and to deepen vertical integration. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. Klaus Eckert will join the Solidus Group and will continue to lead Mölle as the Managing Director.

Mölle has facilities in Kastellaun, Germany, and Gliwice, Poland, and is one of the leading producers of partitions and inserts in Northwest Europe, according to reports. The company processes an average production volume of 5,000 tpy and mainly supplies the glass, packaging, pharma and beverage end markets.

A significant amount of their partitions and inserts are produced from solid board due to the strength properties and logistical advantages. After full completion of the transaction, Solidus' mills in the Netherlands will supply the majority of the board to Mölle.

Only in January, Solidus completed the takeover of GMP Partitions, the largest producer of partitions and inserts in the Netherlands. The company operates five board mills in the Netherlands and one in Spain as well as converting facilities in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal and the UK.
