Markets for publication paper, fine paper and cartonboard remain overheated.
It is almost impossible to source some paper and cartonboard grades on the Polish market right now. Various cartonboard grades, fine paper and many types of publication paper are in short supply. This situation has worsened since autumn. The supply situation for packaging paper however has stabilised in recent weeks. There are no more bottlenecks in this segment and mills’ and converters’ warehouses are fairly well-stocked. Things are also calming down in the rest of the supply chain – from recovered paper to corrugated board and packaging.
For many of the other paper and board grades, the price landscape is still a patchwork of individual hikes and mark-ups, which have been implemented at different times. With the start of the new year and another price adjustment, some parts of the market are seeing more consistency again.
