Sonoco acquires remaining Corenso business in the US

Corenso will be completely sold. A part of the company was already acquired by VPK Packaging most recently. Now, Sonoco is taking over the remaining business in the US.

The market for cores and coreboard is consolidating. US packaging and cores manufacturer Sonoco plans to acquire the US business of Corenso. Sonoco announced it had signed a definitive agreement to take over Corenso Holdings America for approximately $110m in cash. The takeover takes place shortly after Corenso parted with its businesses in Europe and China. Sonoco expects the transaction to be finalised in the third quarter of this year.

Corenso Holdings America produces coreboard as well as paper coresin at three locations in the USA.
