Stora Enso's Fors mill has been idled due to maintenance measures this week. A company spokesperson told EUWID that production would resume this weekend.

During the production shutdown, Stora Enso would be installing new equipment at the pulp line to improve CTMP properties and make the pulp more fluffy, which, in turn, would result in a higher stiffness and smoother surface of the board and at the same time reduce the amount of fibre used, the spokesperson said.

Furthermore Stora Enso was starting work to install a new cooling tower with the aim to increase the capacity for cooling the waste water and thus reduce the mill's emissions.
