Stora Enso shelves expansion plans for Ostroleka recycled containerboard mill in Poland

The company examined the option to install a new 500,000 tpy containerboard machine at the site.

Stora Enso will not increase production capacity at the Ostroleka recycled corrugated case material mill in Poland. The company explained that it had decided not to procede with the project "due to the prevailing market and global geo-political situation."

Stora Enso had performed a feasibility study for instaling a new containerboard machine at the Polish site. The project entailed the possibility of increasing the facility's capacity by 500,000 tpy.

So far, the company has published no information on the specific paper grade that would have been produced on the new paper machine.
