Internationa Paper's Polish mill in Kwidzyn was idled for four days in June due to a strike for higher wages.

International Paper’s employees in Kwidzyn embarked on an indefinite strike in the night of Tuesday 9 June, which was called off in the late evening of 12 June. Responding to a query from EUWID, an International Paper spokeswoman said that the company had arrived at an agreement with employees and full operation had been resumed.

Solidarność writes on its web page that International Paper agreed on 12 June to pay its workers PLN150 more per month, increase their annual base pay by 3.1 per cent from 1 June and give them a one-time payout of PLN500.
