Swedish pulp manufacturer Rottneros announced that production at Vallvik plant had been affected by an unplanned shutdown due to disturbances in the bleaching plant and the recovery boiler.

Repair work was underway and normal production was scheduled for Wednesday 9 May, the company informed, adding that the shutdown represented an estimated production loss of about 6,000 tonnes, corresponding to approximately 6% of the Group's total planned production for the quarter.

According to Rottneros' website, Vallvik mill produces softwood sulphate pulp, which accounts for approximately 60% of the company's production.
