Tissue group Cartiere Carrara grows through acquisitions

The acquisition of Carind and CRC strengthens Carrara's converting activities and tissue products offering in the AfH and Consumer Tissue segments.

Italy's tissue paper and products company Cartiere Carrara has finalised the acquisition of Carind e CRC. Financial details of the deal were not revealed.

Carind is running a production facility in Arpino in Italy's Lazio region. The company produces tissue and sanitary paper products such as toilet paper, hand towels, and napkins, mostly for the Away-from-Home (AfH) segment, and the food service, hotel and catering industry (Horeca).

CRC runs one converting facility in Sermoneta, Lazio region, and produces toilet paper, handtowels and napkins for the Consumer Tissue markets. The products are either sold under the company's own brand or as private label.

Cartiera Carrara employs 600 people in Italy and operates six tissue mills with an installed capacity of 240,000 tpy. The company's converting operations are represented by 42 converting lines, producing tissue and sanitary products for AfH and Consumer Tissue customers in 47 countries, Cartiere Carrara explained.
