Toscotec is a big player in the tissue paper machinery market. The company will carry out the tissue business with new lines and major rebuilds for the whole Voith group.

Following approval by the relevant competition authorities, German Voith group has completed the acquisition of Italy's pulp and paper machine technology and services supplier Toscotec. The takeover was finalised with effect from the end of April.

According to the plans announced at the end of last year, Voith acquired a 90 % stake in Toscotec while 10 % remain in the hands of Toscotec's CEO Alesandro Mennucci. Toscotec becomes part of the Voith group but will continue operating under its own brand.

The acquisition is said to strengthen Voith's offering and market position. Major effects are reportedly expected in the business with paper machines and technology for customers in the tissue segment.

"In the area of tissue, Toscotec will carry out the business with new lines and major rebuilds for the whole Voith Group in the future. Voith Paper will continue to serve its delivered tissue machines," Voith explained.
