UK prices for brown recycled containerboard decline

Price development for fluting 90 g in the UK
21 May 2014 −

Unbleached recycled containerboard prices in the UK have dropped in May on good supply. Prices of other containerboard grades have remained stable.

New capacity is making itself apparent in the form of very ample supply of brown recycled corrugated case material in the UK. Prices have dropped as a result. Converters are speculating whether additional price reductions might be on the cards for June.

In the brown kraftliner segment, talks about price reductions for brown kraftliner are currently in progress. Customers are putting up vigorous opposition; lower prices for brown recycled corrugated case material are supporting their cause.

No change in price is reported for white testliner and white top kraftliner in May.
