UPM Raflatac raises its capacity for labelstock products in the USA. The company has opened a new factory in Fletcher, not far from its existing facility in Mills River.

UPM Raflatac has opened a new specialty products factory in Fletcher, North Carolina. UPM said the facility would provide the company with the expertise, narrow-web coating capabilities and capacity to develop specialty labelstock solutions for demanding end-uses. Full-scale production has reportedly begun in April.

According to the company, the specialty products factory will supply labelstock products for end-uses such as security, pharmaceutical, food, tire and durables labeling and ultra removable applications.

"With our new label solutions center, UPM Raflatac achieves its vision of offering a full range of standard Prime, VIP and Specials products to our customers," said Jouko Lähepelto, Senior Vice President, Americas & Asia Pacific, UPM Raflatac.

UPM Raflatac said the new factory would allow the company to streamline its logistic processes and to accelerate production and order delivery since it was located nearby the company’s existing labelstock manufacturing facility in Mills River.
