Upswing in titanium dioxide prices stopped in Q2

Titanium dioxide prices in Western Europe did not increase further in the second quarter. Thanks to sufficient supply prices remained stable in most cases and are expected to do so in the coming months, too.

The upsurge in titanium dioxide prices in Western Europe came to a standstill at least temporarily in the second quarter. Price increases announced by almost all major manufacturers in the second half of February and in March for deliveries in the second quarter were unable to be pushed through as a rule. Titanium dioxide prices thus rolled over from the first quarter into the second without any major changes. According to statements from buyers, minor price reductions have also been possible for major purchases in scattered instances.

Buyers in the decor paper industry are working from the assumption that the price situation is most likely to remain stable in the coming months. There are still no problems with supply on the European titanium dioxide markets, supply even seems to be exceeding demand at the moment. So far there have not been any official announcements of calls for new prices for deliveries in the third quarter.
