Valmet supplies two more recycled containerboard machines to Nine Dragons

With the installation of PM 43 and PM 45 Nine Dragons Paper will increase the group' s total production capacity by another 1.25 million tpy.

Finnish machine engineering company Valmet will supply two more recyled containerboard machines to China's Nine Dragons Paper. According to Valmet, the two machines will be installed and commissioned at the Dongguan and Quanzhou paper mills in 2019 and produce testliner grades in basis weights of 75-140 g/m².

Nine Dragons puts the design capacity for the PM 43 at Dongguan mill at 600,000 tpy. PM 45 at Quanzhou paper mill is said to produce 650,000 tpy.

The new orders for paper machines PM 43 and PM 45 follow on the heels of the four paper machines ordered by Nine Dragons in 2016 and 2017. Nine Dragons plans to start up three out of the six Valmet-supplied recycled containerboard machines by the end of 2018, while the other three machine are scheduled for start-up by mid-2019.

Upon completion of the six recycled containerboard machine projects in 2018 and 2019, Nine Dragons Paper will boost the group's total annual production capacity by 3.25 million t to over 17 million tpy of recycled containerboard, coated duplex board and printing and writing papers.
