20 Jul 2020 −

Vipap Videm Krško will invest CZK250m in the production of food packaging paper and lower the share of newsprint in total production.

The new owner of Slovenian paper mill Vipap Videm Krško, RIDG Holding, is investing more than CZK250m (approximately €10m) in the company. The money will be invested in the production of paper for food packaging, but also in a general technology upgrade. The new product range will comprise paper bags, carrier bags and laminated paper, according to a company report.

Completion of the restructuring is planned for the turn of 2021 and 2022. With this move, the company wants to become more competitive and flexible. Currently the share of newsprint and magazine papers in total production stands at 90 per cent. The goal is to halve this share within the next three years.
