Voith to supply Progroup's new 750,000 tpy recycled containerboard machine

PM 3 will boost company's containerboard capacity to 1.85 million tpy.

Progroup's paper making subsidiary Propapier has tapped Voith to supply the new recycled containerboard machine PM 3 for the company's greenfield site near Bitterfeld, Germany. According to Voith, installation work is scheduled to begin in early 2019 with completion slated for the second half of 2020.

PM 3 has a working width of 9.2 m and will manufacture recycled corrugating medium and testliner with basis weights ranging from 80 to 150 g/m². Propapier and Voith put the machines annual capacity at 750,000 tpy.

Following the start-up of the new machine, Propapier's total production capacity production capacity for containerboard will increase to approximately 1.85 million tpy, Progroup explained.
