21 Feb 2019 −

Belgian paper and packaging manufacturer VPK Packaging will in future use the port of Hull for paper deliveries to the UK.

The company has signed a two-year contract with Associated British Ports (ABP), the UK's leading port operator. Accordingly, 35,000 tonnes of paper reels in containers are to be shipped from Ghent to Hull each year.

From Hull, the paper is supplied to VPK's own Rigid corrugating plants in Selby, Desborough and Wellington and to VPK's external customers. According to ABP, VPK expects a significant increase in the quantities of paper to be delivered in the coming years.
