Weakening demand on French recycled corrugated case material market

26 Jul 2011 −

The traditional summer slowdown has reached France's recycled corrugated case material business. Order intake has cooled since the start of July at the latest, with producers now reporting that demand was "still fair" to "not very good". A producer cautioned that demand had declined more than usual at this time of year. All manufacturers agreed that machines now needed to be idled, with all of them also stating their intention to do so in July and August. Numerous cases of discounts have been seen, which manufacturers stressed were temporary and did not apply to regular prices.
