Wepa to take over Van Houtum

09 May 2017 −

Takeover will strengthen Wepa's position in the Away-from-Home market segment for tissue products.

Germany's Wepa Hygieneprodukte GmbH is planning to take over Van Houtum Group Holding. Wepa has signed an agreement to acquire all shares in the Dutch tissue paper and products company.

The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval, but Wepa and Van Houtum expect the transaction to be finalised in the coming weeks. The purchase price would not be disclosed, the two companies announced in a joint press release.

Van Houtum employs 200 people and generates annual sales of €60m. The company is producing tissue paper products and washroom supplies for the Away-from-Home (AfH) segment at one production site in Swalmen, Netherlands.
