Westrock will spend $410m to install largest kraftliner machine ever commissioned in North America at its facility in Florence, South Carolina.
The company reports that the new PM will offer a capacity of 710,000 sh.t (644,000 metr.t)of kraftliner per year and shall be erected at Westrock’s facility in Florence, South Carolina. According to Westrock, the installation of the PM will form the core of a $410m investment programme to modernise the production plant over the next two years.
When the new machine will come on stream, three of the paper machines currently operated at the Florence plant will be shut down. Therefore the overall increase in kraftliner production capacity will only amount to around 24,000 metr.t.
